(More customer reviews)What a great kit. Three rolls of rawhide laces (two beige and one black); an awl, a puller tool, a long needle, polishing mitt, mitt oil, a little brush, and some instructions. Just exactly what you need to relace a mitt.
The instructions are basic and good to get you started. Here's the rub with mitt repair, nobody but nobody publishes diagrams of how mits are actually laced. So if you or your child has pulled the laces completely out of the mitt; well good luck, it might just be impossible to relace. Catcher's mitts - ouch, they are the most difficult in the universe (there are laces in places you'd never imagine).
So big warning Dad's trying to do this, don't let your kid pull the laces out before you get to repairing it. Take pictures, do drawings, and disassemble very carefully and slowly. It's not hard to do the lacing if you follow the original laces.
Now if you find yourself in the horrible situation of the strings are pulled out, go to your favorite auction website and look for pictures there. It's very possible what you need will be there. The other two favorite search engine images websites (bing) are less likely to have pictures.
Great little kit.
