(More customer reviews)May 2008 Adirondacks NY. Plan to hike 5 peaks in 3 days. Redfield, Gray, Marcy, Skylight and Cliff. 4' Snow drifts still on trails. 6hr hike took 9hrs. Exhausted. No Redfield first day. MSR Dragonfly Stove works great. Original version w/ original pump. Dinner, Scotch, bed. Next morning evaluate trail to Gray & Mt. Marcy. NO GO. Crossing stream out of question. Too wide with still melting snow. Still 4' drifts up main trail. Decide to hike Redfield and perhaps Cliff. Ready to eat breakfast. STOVE BROKEN!!!!!!!!! The old pump had cracked around the plunger coupling. Would not keep preasure. No stove, no eat, no hike. TRIP OVER.
I swore I would never take this stove into the wilderness ever again. Someone bought me an Amazon gift card and I decided to buy the new pump just to see if it was superior to the last. It was inexpensive enough to try it. Glad I did. Serious improvement from last version. The MSR Dragonfly is an excellent stove but the pump is the biggest concern because it is made of plastic. I bought another one as an on the trail back up. I wouldn't go into the woods without the repair kit for the stove and the extra pump. Worked fine with the original Dragonfly stove and fuel canisters (which was a concern I had when buying it). LET ME REPEAT THAT SINCE I HAD A SERIOUS TIME FINDING ANY FEEDBACK OR INFORMATION THAT SPELLED THAT OUT CLEARLY ENOUGH:

THE NEW PUMP WORKS WITH THE OLD/ORIGINAL DRAGONFLY STOVE AND FUEL CANISTERS.
