(More customer reviews)This is the Park Tools SW10 adjustable spoke wrench.I rescued a 1971-72 Raleigh three speed.I quickly found the wheels were not adjusted for 30 years. So I got my handy dandy red/black/yellow set of colorful spoke wrenches, and began to tighten them up.Before I had gotten around the wheel, I rounded the corners of 3 nipples off. So I ordered a more extensive set, the round style, stainless steel, a bargain at little cost and it works well on a key chain, but it does nothing for old style Raleigh spokes. So, I went for the big buck king of all spokes, the PARK Tools adjustable spoke/nipple wrench. This thing, when used properly, can tighten the already tight and thoroughly corroded spokes of my old Raleigh until you can make music by tapping on the spokes.It will even turn the rounded off spokes.You open the wrench up, place it on the nipple, and tighten it down, move it gently back and forth, while tightening it further, and behold! It MOVES!.
You can move it in either direction, looser and tighter, but it will do nothing for the wheel bearings. For that you need a set of cone wrenches. Let me tell you about my old friend, Pedro, who makes a great set of cone wrenches...
